Best deep purple album????
# 1
probably machine head
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

For me it's a tie between "Purple Passages" and "Fireball". "Machine Head" got played to death on the radio, and it got old too soon.

well maybe machine head is over played , but it is still one of the best albums ever recorded.
besides that, i think "in rock" is agreat album, even though most of the guitar solos there are but noise. another good album is "deep "purple" which has few really good tracks.

My fave tracks are "Sweet child in time" and "Burn", dunno which albums they're from. They were a great great rock band. Did you know that Steve Morse And Satriani have been on more recent band line ups? I don't know what these recent line ups are like though, but personally I thought Ian Gillan was a great singer and don't think anyone could replace him.
If I couldn't laugh at myself how could I laugh at someone less ridiculous?

Since Blackmore was the reason I got started playin,my fave is Made in Japan followed by In Rock and Machine Head, the worst is Last Concert in Japan w/Tommy Bolin. This goes to show what happens when people with good talent(Bolin)throw it all away with drugs.
Can we have everything louder than everything else???

Machine Head
Satrianni got his start playing with Deep Purple.
Steve Morse also played w/Kansas for awhile.
I believe Ian Gillian is the singer on the original Jesus Christ Superstar album.
Tommy Bolin played on Billy Cobhams Stratus albou (great album). I think he also appears on one of Jaco's Live In N.Y. cd's (could be wrong about that one)>

If you ask me, saying that Blackmore can even COMPETE with Morse is a joke...
Steve Morse is a virtuoso. Period.
yes.
Blackmore, on the other hand is a great rock song writer. he wrote dozens of classic rock riffs and songs. with all my respect to morse - he only tries to play blackmore stuff now and not actually writes it.

i may be the only one here, but my vote goes for "perfect strangers" in my opinion the only good one...
Your brain doesn't move fast enough to comprehend my playing.

The title track of "Perfect Strangers" was such a beautiful kick to the head for all the pretenders that littered the scene at the time, but I think the rest of the album lacks any memorable 'staying power'. I had to dig it out of my collection just to see what else was on it.
