to answer your first question, learning black star definately helped me on my sweeping and speed. also eruption helped my on my finger endurance. crazy train was the first real song i learned all the way through, which i guess is always beneficial.

as for you second one. i live in chicago, so its cold a lot. no matter what temperature my fingers have to warm up, but in the cold it usually takes a little longer.
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

Like trendkillah said, evrything I´ve learned have helped me and always make sure to get good blood circulation before playn. I always keep my room pretty hot and I hate to play when it´s cold.

Before I used to stretch my fingers like Petrucci does on Rock Discipline video but a doctor told that it isn´t good so I stoped. Now I usualy rob my hand against eachother and play the following solos (Civil War (all three), Estranged (both) Nightrain (both) and Shock Me), I really don´t know why but I feel comfortable somehow and has been doin´ that for last 2 years and than I´m ready to roll.

The doc told me so but I never felt no pain while I was doing that and I was doing it for like 2 yrs, but I don´t feel no pain now either since I stoped. So I don´t really know what to think except that it depends on human body. Doc said that it depends how easily you get sick and get infections and also it´s dangerous to play while you allready have a infection and are sick.

That´s encourages me pretty much ´cause I´m almost never sick.

One more thing. Don´t overplay. Let´s say that you´re doin´ 4 hrs evryday than don´t suddenly change into 10 hrs, than go back to 4, than 2 than 8... I think playn´ regularly is important. 1 our 2 days probably don´t mean nothing but if you change it constantly, than I think you run a bigger risk for tendonitis crap.
