I see the new poll says people want more easy riffs. Easy like this one? http://www.guitartricks.com/easy1.shtml
easier?
not that easy?
Let us know. We can help.
how easy is easy?

Well I think that trick was easy. Easy.
But I'm not sure if it's that kind of tricks
they want. It doesn't sound so "cool".

Magnus, I'm too old to be cool.

Forget the people who want easy. They can make up their own pentatonic noodling. Give us some more challenging stuff that we can really sink our teeth into. I'm not talking neoclassical stuff, cause i think magnus, johann, troy, and robert have got that covered. Maybe some jazz stuff, or more funk. Also, maybe some lessons on stuff like voice leading that most self taught guitarrists tend to ignore. Well, that's my 2 cents. Good site u have here.

Well Daniel and Jonathan. I think that guitartricks will be best if we've got a all kinds of tricks, hard and easy ones.
I don't know if it would do if we had an easy section, a mid section and a hard section. this is hard to know... this is
just my opinion

Your site is great. Now that the compliment is out of the way, onto my thoughts.
I'd like to thank you for contributing to it, any and all who have. It is art in itself and as such the artist(s) deserve praise. In any event, I tried the riff that was referred to in the original message I'm replying to, and it was something I enjoyed. I've tried the harder riffs, sure they take time and are easy as they are practiced more, but I think Magnus has it right, that we need easy and hard riffs. I enjoyed the easy riff, because it left room for innovation if needed, and if not it sounded pleasant. Beginner's would love riffs like that. I'm not a green rookie here, but I am learning about the scales and learning to read tab faster. The simple riffs help a great deal. Thank you once again. =) I have some tricks to contribute, which I hope won't be mocked...fare well now.

Also, I'm sorry to post another reply so soon, but I just got done with easy trick #4, and I mastered it in about 49 seconds...okay okay...
it was a minute. But the point is, that it is easy, and for intermediate players its a nice refreshing bonus. I lack experience with riffs, but I master them instantly...
So keep the easy tricks coming, along with the knuckle breaking ones.

I guess I should stop posting...but the fact of the matter is, I had never really played a pretty slide, and you just revolutionized my playing with trick #5...
thanks again!
It only took me a minute to master, but its changed my playing, thanks.
(and i'm not as bad as I sound)

When you're old, your riffs aren't very cool.
But they sound pleasant.

Personally, I think you guys got a good selection of easy tricks already and should concentrate on getting some harder, longer ones. When I was first starting out and went through all your guys tricks (the original ones), I thought they were great and after I finished them, I found I could start making up my own. I think others are more or less like that as well. I think it would be cool to see some bigger ones, not short little riffs but something inbetween a riff and a solo. One of those great passages in a solo where you stop and think "wow, this makes the solo".
