The Tool shows a guitar fretboard but is actually played on a piano. why not play the guitar scales on a actual guitar because the focus is about guitars.

I think the audio on the scale finder is a digital synthesized version of a clean guitar. It sounds very similar to the results I heard from the early days of general MIDI run through a standard soundcard.
