It's been a little over a year and a half since I started really trying to learn guitar. I've been having a lot of fun. Anyway, here's my rendition of John Mellencamp's "Jack And Diane".

This song uses triads on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings...A (C shape) at the 9th fret, E (A shape) at the 7th fret, D (A shape) at the 5th fret. A 2nd guitar plays A at the 5th fret (E shape), E at the 4th fret (C shape), and D at the 2nd fret (C shape). The open A string is played with the triads, and the open D string is played during the opening riff.

[br]I used my Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH played through my Spark 40 Amp Royal Crown sim (with added overdrive for the intro hook) connected to GarageBand via USB. Also used the same guitar and sim for rhythm (without overdrive). Added a 2nd guitar track for rhythm using my Yamaha FGX 412c through Guitar Band Natural Flat Pick acoustic amp sim. The bass and drums are from the actual song which I ripped with RipX Deep Audio Remix.

Thanks. I got the idea from one of Mike Olekshy's Friday night YouTube sessions.
