I just saw this week's new song lesson is Spooky by the Atlanta Rhythm Section. Thank you so much for doing this great song!! This is one I've requested more than a few times, and I'm so psyched to dive into it. I've wanted to learn this one for years; such tasty guitar playing on this song. Thank you, thank you!!

Any chance you might be doing champagne jam by Atlanta Rythym Section?

Hey Mike,
Working on your excellent tutorial for "Spooky". Wondered if you would ever consider showing the rest of the second solo? Thanks for all your wonderful instruction

Yes, being used to just hearing the full album version, I was a little surprised when the lesson ended partway through solo 2, not to mention entirely skipping solo 3 (with all the octaves work) at the end. I assume this was based on some kind of radio edit version. But I'm grateful for what we got, and I guess I can work on figuring out the rest myself.
Hmmm yes, it must have been a radio edit we used. I'll reach out to the powers at be and see if perhaps we can reshoot the entire album version. Thanks for bringing to my attention!

Hey Mike,
wanted to check and see if you had found out if the missing solo might be added to the Spooky tutorial? Definitely have a need for it.
thanks,
Jerry

OK that was quick! Admin has approved reshooting the complete album version of the tune!
I'll most likely film this one in the next few months, so fingers crossed, we'll see it on the site by summer.
Thanks to Jerry and Doug for the suggestion!

Wow! That's fantastic! I'm genuinely impressed by your initiative to pursue this Mike, and by the support from the site Admin. This is such an iconic Southern Rock classic, and I'm so grateful we're gonna get the whole enchilada! Thanks so much!

Hi Mike ,
was just checking to see if you had any ETA of the full album version of Spooky? Can’t wait to finish that ending!
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Jerry - I'm going to be filming that one next week. Once it gets through the editing and transcribing process, it should be up on the site in a few months.

Thanks for the update, Mike!
That reminds me of a kind of "behind the scenes" question on the song lessons. Is it you and the other teachers who actually transcribe the individual guitar parts, and then someone transcribes your performance for the notation, or are you working from an existing transcription that someone else has alreaady done? It sounds like the former. And where in the process does the backing track get created? I used to do some freelance transcribing for the big publishers, so I was just kind of curious how this process worked.
