Might be shooting too high here in the harder side of rock, I discovered a band called IDLES last year that was so unique to anything I've heard before and have been obcessed ever since who are making a bit of a scene in new music.

On the chill out side of things Khruangbin is a great listen

Thanks cf...
I'll definitely check them out. Is there a "too hard" side of rock ;) ?
Holy crap! Nuno Bettencourt!
Coming from Extreme's so to be released (?) sixth album https://youtu.be/iJ_AOIbj8AA .
Ok - "Hole Hearted" (in songs here on GT), then "Get the Funk Out", now this - "Rise"? Amazing!
I'm in awe.

Ok folks. I need help.
I understand that rock these days has changed. My ear and heart are still begging for the sounds of my youth - '70-'80s era but my brain is craving what's current and new.
I feel moss growing on my aged rump. A stone no longer rolling...
Who should I be listening to today? 2022?
I understand, I grew up in the classic rock era. My theory instructor was a big modern metal guy, so most of my homework was based around that genre.
I found that even though it wasn't something I listened to, it was a blast to play, and my skills drastically increased.

Not surprising innocci. My son-in-law-to-be follows a number of metal guys that are genuine virtuosos- amazing players.

Khruangbin is a definite chill pill. Liked it.

Alter Bridge is touring at the moment.
If you like classic rock they might be close enough for you. Maybe like a metal/classic vibe.
Miles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) has done alot with Slash. Not sure if they plan on anything in the future.
