Nirvana Unplugged
Is this album all acoustic? I know it says unplugged, but I just want to make sure. I don't care much for the Heavy stuff. I really like the acoustic songs though.

Maybe so, but it is all "acoustic" guitars?? I downloaded the song "Lake Of Fire". Ya it still sounds rockish, but thats what i'm looking for.

The album is great whatever played on.
In The Man Who Sold the World there indeed are some electric guitars, but just a little

Dewd, get it or be square! That album is amazing, and I'm not even a big Nirvana fan. The fact that there's alittle Distortion on 'the man whole sold the world', doesn't ruin the acoustic mood of it. Not having it is like not have any Zeppelin, Floyd, and Doors albums. I dunno bout that, but for anyone whose into music, it's a must-have.

It's mainly acoustic guitars ... On some songs it's plugged, but still sound like acoustic guitars with exception to "The Man Who Sold The World" lead parts.
It's a nice album anyway.

Very nice album actually. I was suprised when I heard it Ā“cause I knew before that Nirvana was an ODD band live.

The "ODD" band was what I am afraid of. I saw a few documentaries on them, and no offence, but theres would definetly not be a concert I would go to. I like the studio stuff, and am looking forward to buying the Unplugged Nirvana Album, but I think thats where its gonna end.

Just don't buy the "new" album - there's only one "new" song on the whole thing.

This may sound abit silly, but it just occured to me right now reading this thread that the meaning of unplugged is just that,"unplugged from an amp",in other words, straight up acoustic, from soundboard to eardrum.
It never occured to me before.I used to think unplugged is maybe slang for live or something.
D'OH!!

kingdavid - That's right dude ... That was the main thing about the MTV unplugged concerts , but they sometimes plug acoustic guitars into amps , mixers or whatever instead of just going through a mic.
These concerts still sound like unplugged anyway , no effects or any special electric sounds.

No offence or anything, but DUH! It took me a little while to figure out the unplugged thing, but after I noticed that every "unplugged" album (i.e Eric Clapton and Rolling Stones "Stripped") involved acoustic guitars, I put the two together.

the unplugged album is a very cool album.. mainly because you hear their songs on the merit of the song writing and not production...
come as you are, has a chorus effect, and so really doesn't sound unplugged...
The song that most impresses me is "on a plain", very simple song, very simple structure, yet it works so well... there are better songs, but this one works so well...
Their live shows are nice and noisey... their live shows became very uninspired, during the short post nevermind period.. but before and after that it was better..

Odd? What does odd mean here? Original? Having its own style/voice?
If it means so I like to be odd too :)
It is boring to be regular ;)
