I think they should have the beginner thing like add a new for jazz, funk, metal, pop and classical, each having their own lesson block just like the rock, blues, country and acoustic.that would literally make this site perfect .

You forgot to include Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Flamenco, and probably lots more that I can't think of at the moment....

Skills are transferable from the ones already on here, but I think "Classical" would have enough specialised areas of expertise to merit inclusion (although I suspect there wouldn't be enough demand for it, and I imagine it's not really a genre that could be taught well on a web site).

I wish this forum had a "block user" feature. Possibly I'm not the only one......

GT has style courses for Acoustic, Blues, Country & Rock because those have the most demand among guitar students. And they typically have the most crossover, or transferable concepts & skills (as DraconusJLM said, thanks!)

Another reason the genres you mentioned are not featured is that they are very specialized & are too complex for a beginner level course!

Having said that, there are plenty of standalone tutorials that cover those genres. For example, I've organized my tutorials on my directory to give students a general path to follow for classical and jazz. Scroll down the see those sections.

And in my instructor forum I have a sticky thread that outlines a specific path for learning classical at GT.

As well as jazz.

But please keep in mind that classical & jazz guitar styles are complex & difficult endeavors. We can teach you the basics, but beyond a certain point it's a serious discipline that will require a lot of time & effort, likely involving a real world university level study course.

There are also some tutorials aimed at funk.

And metal!

Hope that helps!
