It depends on what you mean by often. But in general, no. Not unless you are playing for hours & hours, or strumming/picking really hard or bending a lot.

I play guitar everyday for at least an hour, most days 3 or 4 hours. I break a high E string at least every few days, especially when I'm bending or playing a lot of rock style licks on the upper strings. Every so often I break a D string. Usually the other strings last for a week or so then I change them on guitars that get the most use.

How often are you playing? How often are you breaking strings? Which strings are you breaking?
