Tuning an acoustic guitar

For the classes in which I am participating, does it matter if my guitar is tuned to open "D" or open "G" or E,A,D,G,B,E (what is this tunings name?) ?

Your guitar needs to be in the right tuning for the lessons. EADGBE is commonly known as 'Standard tuning'.

I'd recommend sticking with standard tuning if you're new or relatively new to playing guitar. Then possibly move on to trying other tunings if whatever you want to play calls for it.
