Hi there!

After fundamentals 2, what is the best lesson to continue learning how to read music?

I am in Rock 1 but I do not know if I'll touch reading again there

thanks

Rodrigo

Without wanting to hijack the thread, it would be great if there was an option to disable Tabs in the notation for people wanting to build or maintain their music reading.

I learnt musical notation a few years back and its a little rusty. I can pick it up and when I do it flows nicely. When Tab is there I find it hard to avoid the eyes taking the easiest path and looking up the fingering.

Figure if this was an option then it would help people maintain or building their music reading ability. Tabs great but it is nice to be able to do both.

Every GT lesson with a musical example has music notation along with it. All the lessons in Rock 1 & 2 will be great examples for you to practice on. And especially since you have Anders playing the examples so you know what they should sound like.

You might also enjoy working through these simple melodies. I have some in the old GF1 starting here.

And some in my classical section here.

Also, the internet is a treasure trove of public domain material for practice. I enjoy reading through Bach's inventions a couple of times a week for practice.

Hope that helps!

[p]While an interesting idea, I'm not sure how practical that would be to implement since they are images.

I find it takes a little time to make the extra effort to look at the notation first, but after you make yourself do it for a while it becomes a little easier.

Hope that helps!
