Does anyone know why this cool Prince song is no longer available on the site and how can we get it back? I was in the middle of learning it.

Yes, GuitarTricks lost the rights to use the material on their site 3/31. I think all of Prince's material ,The Who, Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, Boston, and many many more.

I also noticed that Beatles song "She loves you" is not available either.

I had already practiced that one, but sure missed practicing along the backing track.

[br]I would be great if each song could show some expiration date.

Nevertheless, great site, lessons and teachers.

Thank you!

I was wondering where the Prince songs went... I hope they come back, together with the songs of other artists.

Hey all!

Unfortunately, we are unable to renew the license for a selection of our song lessons and they were unpublished on March 31st.

This is not the outcome we hoped for and we tried everything we could to keep these lessons on the site. Despite our efforts, we weren't able to renew our license and we need to unpublish the songs.

I want to be clear that this does not happen regularly. In fact, it is so rare that we announced this in the Guitar Tricks Forum, back in February.

So why is this happening?

Guitar Tricks has been at the forefront of teaching guitar online since 1998. When we decided to teach songs, we were the first to legally secure licenses with publishers for the right to teach their songs online. We have always honored the rights holders. Licenses are given for a period of time and in this case, we were not able to extend the license for this set of songs.

I want to assure you that we work tirelessly to keep the songs we have and despite this loss, we are dedicated to releasing new song lessons every week this year. Stay tuned for new song lessons each week by visiting the homepage under “Newest Lessons”.

Thank you so much for your understanding and patience in this matter. We greatly appreciate you reaching out!

Once again. Can we get the expiry dates included on the song lesson pages please? Even with 4 weeks notice...a list that big is impossible for some of us to get onto if we intended to, so would be good to be able to know how long we potentially have to learn a song. If I had 5 songs I wanted to learn and 1 of them had an expiry date of this year, and rest 4 years...then I would know which one to target and write the tab out for first.

Hopeful thanks.
