Hi! I was just wondering if anyone had advice when it comes to building up the strength for the 6th string rooted F Barre chord. I can get my other barre chords to ring out just fine but after I move down from the F# to the F I'm stuck. The base note either doesnt ring out and the higher strings do or the Base note is fine and but the higher strings are mute or buzzy. I get its a matter of strength but is there anything I can do to build up that strength?

Thanks

Have you had your guitar's action (the distance from the strings to the fretboard), set up for your needs? If not, it might be that the strings are too high. That would cause the F chord to more difficult to play, because you are right next to the nut. That is where you would have to apply more pressure to get a clean sound. If the guitar's action is high off the fretboard, it will be worst on the first fret.... like you are describing.

have a little gym session each day.

Make barre - press and hold, - release, - increase the time held by one second each day

or play it at the 13th fret.

It is just a time thing, keep going
