Hi all! My name is Adrien and I am VERY new to playing any kind of music at all. I have always had an interest in playing an instrument, but not enough to actually want to take the time to learn. On the other hand, I have always LOVED the sound of a guitar in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing! I realized, a few years ago, that all of my favorite songs have guitar masters in the band (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, Joe Walsh, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, etc.).

I'm 45 years old now and I know that isn't too late to learn how to play (it never is, from what I keep reading) but I know to keep my expectations real...I will never be on that list of masters from the first paragraph. I would love to hear a guitar sing, making great music that makes me stop what I'm doing, close my eyes, and just listen...then realize that I didn't stop what I was doing and it was ME making that great sound come out of a guitar. That moment is my goal, that is what I hope to achieve! Everything that comes with that is a side note. I think it would be great to be in a band that is the live music at a bar or something, but I'm not expecting to get much further than that...if it even goes that far. This is a fun hobby for me, not my livlihood. With that being said, I do expect to put an hour or two a day into it.

I'm very excited as I start down this journey and I know it's a long one and it won't be easy (I'm only on my second day of learning with an actual guitar in my hand and my left arm and finger tips already hurt...ha ha!) but I'm very excited to finally learn how to make great music that I will love come out of a guitar!

Gotta love your enthusiasm. Never lose that. They`ll be ups and downs and side tracks but also victories along the way. Enjoy the journey. This is a great learning site with a lot of support . Good luck !
