I was golfing 3 to 4 times a week year round. I've played 1 round of golf since I got my guitar. This darn instrument is addictive!

Well, if you had the patience to play golf, you're well prepared for the journey of guitar playing. Good luck!!
I am 65 and have been playing 3 years. I am getting up an hour and a half early every morning so I can practice before work..
I had this week off and started practicing at 7 am, it is now 10.50 and the guitar is still hanging around my neck as I type.
All this and I still suck at guitar :)
jarhead, welcome to you! good Luck!

Just started with my first guitar as well, at age 59. I reached out to a friend who leads a band, and have been getting some advice from him, but mostly am just going through the lessons on my own,. I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one starting late in life!
