I have a PRS SE-24 -- it's one of the Korean ones, and I got it for extremely cheap several years ago... in the $300 - $400 range.

I LOVE it. Here's why I bring it up:

It has Humbucker pickups, but a coil tap so you can get pretty good bluesy single-coil tones. Also heavy metal and rock tones with the humbuckers.

It's my all-around go-to guitar, and very happy with it. I use it for all sorts of stuff. Funky, country, metal, etc.

Maybe consider something like that because you're wanting versatility.
