Dear friends,

I'm just started rock style level2 and have a problem in following sessions. It seems that tutor starts a course and tech a lick. No problem until now. But when he starts to jam and improvise with the lick, that's when I’m getting lost. I cannot improvise the way that tutor is improvising and try to guess what note is he playing. and this make me tired very soon.

What am I doing wrong? Should I try to emulate and decipher every note or could I pass it and move to the next course?

Appreciate your help

It's going to be awkward at first because you have no experience at making your own licks! The idea is to play the same notes but in different orders with different rhythms.

You can try to emulate every note he plays, but that's not really the point. The point is to get you to be creative with the notes & think of your own way to phrase them.

But for now, as long as you can play the licks he teaches, then just keep practicing & go forward in the course.

Hope this helps!
