Hi there,
I'm Roberto from Italy. I'm closer to 50 than 40 and I started playing the guitar at the age of 12. I then played in some local bands, playing some gigs and doing a bunch of electric and acoustic stuff. Then around 2000 I stopped and only recently I decided to take the guitar out of the closet; I found that it's vital to also keep it out of the closet, on a stand, so that I can easily grab it and strum it (I got two guitars and a bass exposed in my living room now).
I think I can be classified as an intermediate player; nertheless I recognize I have some weaknesses that I need to fix, like proper right hand technique. I got issues with fast-paced tracks, like the intros to Johnny B. Goode and Crossroads by the Cream; I can (quite) play them as long as I slow them down, but not at their original speed.
Also, knowing only the pentatonic scale in one position, my solos suck! I've just started to add notes from chords progression to my solos and they started to sound better, but I see there's a lot of room for improvement.
Looking forward to have some fun rocking and also acoustic fingerpicking!
Roberto
