I'm currently halfway through guitar fundamentals 2 and was wondering. What songs should I be learning from the songs section? Or should I just carry on working my way through the fundamentals?
What to do?
Hi Scott
I did both at the same time. The songs I chose were from the "made easy" group.
This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

If you're comfortable learning songs, definately do it. No reason not to. Songs are the point and now that you are in F2, you have plenty of skills to learn easier songs. Songs are the point of playing music and if you can have some fun working through a song, by all means, get to it!
Good luck.

Playing music is one of the primary objectives in why we picked up the instrument.
[br]I played songs from the outset, before and from the time I joined Guitar Tricks kicking off with Fundamentals One. So both concurrently was how I chose to do it, and still do.
Generalised recommendations for song choices in the following paragraph.
Pick some you really like enough to persevere with which fit the lesson/competency curve you're on, and some beyond your current capability which challenge you. Possibly not in the four guitar difficulty extreme although that's a broad category with some easier than others, although many of the four guitar difficulty rated rhythm parts are probably easily within your current capabilty by midway through Fundamentals Two, but you'll know where you fit. At least that's what I did. I enjoyed it, and it abetted rather than hindered my progress in my opinion.
Most importantly it perpetually bolsters my motivation & keeps it interesting & challenging, what I perceive as FUN!
