At one time, GT had a wonderful feature which allowed all members to post (not a forum post) whatever personal information and background they wanted. The info was available to all who looked up/clicked on the user name. Such information included the area where the member lived, the guitar experience of the member and any personal background that the posting member wanted to include, e.g., job, guitars owned, music interests, etc..
It was a super way to build comradship and it was helpful in responding to a forum post... is the poster an expert player or a raw newbie? It was fun to learn of common interests, shared guitars or experience,or that a member lived just an hour down the interstate or in a neighboring shire.
A few years ago the feature was removed without notice or explanation. I miss it.
It is interesting to learn about everyone!
At this time, I'm not able to work as I deal with a number of auto immune and chronic pain conditions. Music and art are my therapy each day. I don't know what I would do without it...

Interesting thread to revive. I missed it the first time around. It's interesting to see what folks do.
Me?
I'm a Program Manager at a telecom. What's a Program Manager? Well, I own (in part) a 'thing'. The role is not a project manager though I do manage projects. But it's all projects and improvements for a specic part of the business. For me, I work in customer privacy and regulations. Sounds boring but it's challenging and I like that kind of challenge...which is why I took up guitar in 1981(ish) and still play; more to learn!
Civil Servant - music is the only thing keeping me anywhere close to sane.
I wish this forum had a "block user" feature. Possibly I'm not the only one......
