I think I would have to agree with Azrael - sometimes the mark of true skill lies in knowing when NOT to play your instrument - so it can be hard to judge the ability and/or talent of a given artist simply by the band or music that they currently play. Although, I do have to give props to Les Claypool - that man can play some seriously wicked Sh!t.
