Hiya.
Just wondering whether any other users experience that Safari (13.1.2 on macOS 10.13.6) always starts each video muted and I have to always unmute the audio. Try as I might, I have not seen any settings that I might change to correct this behaviour.
Any ideas?

That's a bit strange. Have you tried opening the website on a different browser like Chrome?
Yes I also have the same issue on my Ipad with Safari and chrome. I could not find any related settings in iOS.

Yes, I also have tried this in Firefox 82.0.2 and it has the same problem. It seems to be a generic setting on the Guitar Tricks site. From my side, it makes no sense to have a default video playback setting as "muted" for a video lesson. Please consider having the devs look into it.

Just to add to this issue, on one Windows-based computer I use, the videos are muted when the video begins if I use Firefox, currently version 82.0.3, but are fine if I use Chrome, currently version 86.0.4280.198.
Look forward to hearing any ideas?

Take a look at this article. It is a browser settings issue.
Just a heads up on a change to the article mentioned in the previous post. In Firefox, once you do step #4 (locate permissions), now you click on the settings button beside Auto-Play which opens a dialog box where you can choose to permit all websites to play sound or to specify only certain sites.

Sorry to hijack the post, but I have the same issues with my ipad (Safari, Chrome and Edge), videos starting with audio works well with other website. Only GT videos start on mute which makes useless my Ipad ☹ï¸
The article (Thanks Jarkko) is not applicable for ios since I cannot find the same options.
