does anybody know how i can stop my strings from rusting or goin off coloured so quickly?i always clean my hands of salt etc before playing but the strings on my new mexi strat have gone off coloured and almost rusty within a few hours practice,
i have some new roto sound nickel strings, i know they will stil rust like the others but are they as good as the advertisers say they are?
is the anything you can safely clean a maple neck with?
i found that using polish on my squire was a bad idea, eventually the polish built up to a fine wax on the back of the neck when i used it.

They sell fret cleaner...GHS, Dunlop, Gibson all have cleaners/polishers on the market. Almost "rusty" strings ! ? Never heard of such a thing, unless the guitar sat around for months. You could try wiping down the neck with a clean cloth after you get done playing. Always store the guitar in the case with some of those little dehumidifier bags.

well i gotta say its not actually rust i have discovered its just like a dark grimy stuff that makes the strings look dull, i play the guitars every day for at least an hour each they all have cases apart from my squire which is left out on a guitar stand which i never put down cus its my banger(not tatty but cheaper than than the others)
