Hi there,

What 'made easy' songs do we have for getting use to playing in drop D tuning? Accoustic or electric or both. Country, rock, or blues.

Thanks!

I don't think it answers your question, but John Denver frequently played in drop D. I know for sure "I'd Rather Be a Cowboy" is in drop D. Others, too. Easy to find chords on UltimateGuitar for JD songs.

"I got this guitar and I learned how to make it talk."

"Proud Mary" by CCR. Made Easy here for single guitar is in standard tuning, but is optionally/frequently played in drop D tuning. You can play it either way and it still sounds great.

Not in the Made Easy series, still in the key of D major, this version uses guitar one tuned a whole step down DGCFAD, and guitar two in standard tuning.

Hi and welcome Don

Type "drop d" in the search engine and it will bring up some songs taught by GT. The search engine is a great way to find lots of stuff here on GT that is off in some dusty corner.

"Blur" has a 2 pick rating, so should be fairly easy. Not familiar with the song myself, but you might find it fills the bill for now.

Good luck

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

I'm pretty sure all the made easy songs are in standard tuning because they assume the student playing them is a beginner & not yet used to tuning to or using non-standard tunings.

Having said that, here is a list of song using drop D tuning.
