That's quite a lot.

Admittedly, these are spread across the whole range of difficulties and genres that GT supports. For example, the 1045 songs break down into difficulty like this:

11: absolute beginner

184: beginner

401: easy

405: intermediate

44: advanced

I haven't looked at how they split across genres.
