Which way shall i play?

Hey guyss rite now im still practising my alternate picking..after weekss still i cant play it fast
And i came across some problems suck as this below

I did this tabs starting with a downstroke..
to the sequence

--d-u-d--- d=downstroke u=upstroke
--------u-
I find this way difficultt to do it
But i find this sequence below starts with an upstroke easier
--u-d-u---
--------d-
when i starts wih an upstroke i feel its much easier
so which wayy shld i play correctly? Geezz i really need help..thnx

Erkk sorry abt the 1st postt...actually the 8th fret on 2nd string shld be after the 5th fret on the 1st string..

I recomend that you learn both starting with upstroke or downstroke , cuz if it worked for this example it may make others even more complicated.

Also practicing different picking patterns on easy examples like this one will help you with more difficult stuff.
