One Finger Per Fret Issue

I am trying to get in the good habit of playing one finger per fret, but I keep having to turn my fingers and put them at an angle just to make them reach their respective fret. Am I doing anything wrong? There is no real other way to hold the guitar combfortably

Hey magicman99,

That's totally normal. After a lot of time of doing this you'll get better at stretching, and build up your hand muscles. Everyone struggles with this one at first. If you continue to struggle with it, feel free to post a video or photo of your hand position so we can help.
