Hello everyone, just recently joined GT! I have a very old Stella Harmony acoustic (steel string) guitar. I was wondering if anyone could recomend some strings for me. I'm a beginner, but I would like to move towards being proficient at acoustic blues. Thank you for your help.

I have recently started playing Martin M130 Silk & Steel strings, "11s", and I am really enjoying them. The thicker strings are wrapped with silk, so very easy on the fingers. They sound great to my not-so-expert ears. They sound brighter than I would have expected, and they really do feel better than traditional wound strings.

I know at least one other active forum poster has recently switched to the same strings and she loves them. I think she used the word "snuggly" in her description.

It takes as long as it takes unless you quit - then it takes forever and you will never get there.
