guitartricks.com keeps being blocked by CloudFlare

Hi all,

Just today the www.guitartricks.com website started being blocked by CloudFlare, which I presume is the hosting provider. It happens every hour or so and forces a Captha verification or alternatively to install some tool.

"One more step[br] Please complete the security check to access www.guitartricks.com"

What is this all about? Is this a temporary response to some issue, or a system bug? It seems a legit thing and the captch lets you in but it does smell a bit phishy. I'm not keen to install this tool the page recomends.

I also found out about it a couple of days ago and it really upset me. I hope this will be resolved somehow

Me three. Very annoying, but glad it's not someone having hijacked my computer, so that's something!

The Captcha keeps looping in Google Chrome, but I was able to log in to the site successfully using MS Edge.[br][br]Unfortunately I don't see any support to contact here so we can notify them of the issue.

Edit: I found an email address posted under "Contact Us" and I've written them.

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry for the issue! It should be fixed now.

We are always proactively working on security improvements, and this issue was caused by a new bot management tool not being optimally configured. It seems to have thought a small number of real people were 'bots' and issued the captcha challenge in response. For those of you that were affected I know how frustrating that was.

Again, it's fixed now and I'm really sorry that it happened.

Thanks Ben, all good. It was fixed soon after. I also found my semi-dynamic IP was on a spam bot list and got my ISP to fix that, that's probbably what caused it for me with the more sensitive filtering settings but at least I learned about that.

Still doing its job to make sure I'm not a robot. Shoot... if I was I could play better!

I've run into the same security check two times in the last couple days; both after I had been on GT a couple times earlier in the day.

It still comes up frequently for me, but I've decided to go with it. No one's ever mistaken me for a robot before, it's a new life experience.

Yeah. still happening. The 'workaround' makes no sense. If I run a virus scan on my computer, some remote server will know? Very annoying

I'm starting to wonder if maybe I am a robot. If I were, would I know it? Would I still be able to pass the test... these are the questions that I ponder as I click past...

BTW, if you hit "refresh" instead of doing the thing, it skips past. It's a little better than finding all the traffic lights a million times.

This will be the one reason I let this subscription lapse. In the middle of practice, hit Next Lesson and have to go through that crap.

If you want to run Capcha on new logins, fine, but I've been on the site for two hours and loaded 50 pages, so why am I blocked on page 51? [br][br]I'll be over at Justin if anyone needs me

The first time this has happened to me was just a few minutes ago. Is this part of a new update of GuitarTricks? Last year, I don't think it ever happened to me.

Yeah... the CloudFlare thing is a bother.

Ironically, it took longer to type the above 'I'm outa here' post than it does to prove one isn't a robot.
