hi could someone please tell me what a D/F# might look like?
I looked in the chord chart here in GT.com however I could not find it.
Thank you
Paul

Hi,
there might be more than one way to play this, but I know it from Boston's More Than a Feeling. It's in the interlude section. If you can't see it, it looks like this

Sorry, not getting the link to work for some reason, but you can search for the band or song and it'll come up.

That's a slash chord, because of the /. The first letter is the chord (in this case a D major chord). The letter after the slash is the lowest bass note.
So, D/F# is a D major chord with an F# in the bass. It's typically played like this:
--2--
--3--
--2--
--0--
--0--
--2--
Or this:
-----
--3--
--2--
--0--
--0--
--2--
But can also be played like this:
--2--
--3--
--2--
--4--
-----
-----
Or this:
-----
-----
--7--
--7--
--9--
-----
It's essentialy a 1st inversion D major chord. Hope that helps!
Oops, yes I made a mistake. Mine was supposed to be Christopher's second iteration. I should really leave it to the expert in future. :)
