Hi Tom,

Just want to say you are a great guitar player and teacher as well.

My question has to do with the tone and sustain of you guitars. I just wanted to know what amp you are using in your

Lessons. I love the tone and sustain.

I notice it dosent seem to change too much between the Paul or Strat.

Thanks

Frank

Hey Frank, Tom uses a Boss GS-10 for his tones. You can see it in this video at around :30:

There is also an extra foot pedal he adds into the chain, and at the moment I can't recall what it is -- it's some sort of secret trick he uses for a little more bite and sustain, so it must be doing its job if you noticed! (I'll try to find out what it is.) But his primary tones come from that GS-10.

Tom says the secret pedal he uses is a Line 6 Echo Park. I believe he doesn't use the actual delay in it -- he simply engages the pedal to add some sort of analog compression tape-like boost, which is an interesting sound!

Hey jamboss1, Mr. Finch is still around! He hasn't been in to film content in a while, but I am sure we'll have some more stuff coming up from him in the future. He's a great dude and player.
