Hi there, My name is Sparky and I am 47 and new to the guitar (and forums) My brother inherited my uncles electric guitar many years ago, but it has been unplayed for years. As he is not using it I have taken it on and joined Guitar Tricks to try and learn to play it. I have done a few of the beginner lessons with Lisa and I am really enjoying them.

The guitar is a CSL Les Paul style guitar, from the 70's I think, so not very new but sounds ok (to me anyway).

One question I would like to ask advice on is should I try to learn some of the easier songs while I do the lessons or finish the lessons and then try learning some songs?
