I'm a newbie, working on the early tablature fundamental lessons. My question is do I rest my picking hand somehow to have a reference point for picking over the strings or does my hand fully free float? It's unclear from the videos and searching online, there seems to be folks in both camps where some guitarist rest the bottom of the hand (by the wrist) on the bridge when picking. This does feel comfortable but I don't want to get into bad habits. Having played some bango in the past, resting a pinkie below the strings also seems to have its benefits? What do you experts recommend?

Thanks!

Dan

Hey,

I have the very same doubt... Many times I put my pinky down for reference, but I'm not sure if it's a bad habbit or good.

Thanks

Keep rocking!
