Hi folks[br]my name is Heinz. I live in Germany and have been taking guitar lessons (classical guitar) for 1 year. With guitartricks I want to learn how to play the country guitar. Now I ´ m thinking about which lessons to start with. Is there a specific order?

Stay healthy

Hello Heinz!

They usually recomend to go through the guitar fundamentals (beginner lessons). After that, they have a country music path on the beguinner course.

You will certainly already know most of the material on the fundamentals, but its is always worth at least skimming through to ensure you know everything there.

Cheers!

Hello Captain Crunch

Thanks a lot for your answer. So I will skip through the basic lessons befor studying the country lessons. That gives me the feeling of learning everything from scratch.

Here in good old Germany it is now time to hit the sack (10:35 pm).

Have nice day

Howdy Heinz!

I am probably in a similar case to you. I've been "playing" the guitar, on and off (mostly off) for years, and recently enrolled in this website. I believe that, even if I already know most of the material on the fundamental lessons, it serves the following:[br][br]- making sure I have all the skills to properly face the following lessons (spoiler alert: I did learn new stuff)[br]- giving me some confidence in my current skills

- forcing me to start a practice routine (already picked up the guitar three days in a row!)

And even through the courses, if I find the material too easy, I am trying to find ways to complexify the exercises (for example, using the full chords instead of the simplified ones on the first lessons, playing not only the melody, but also the chords of those notes on simple melody lines, soloing to the backing tracks, etc)

Have fun!

Hey Heinz, I just started learning the guitar, had one for ages now but just decided to start taking it seriously so I signed up for Guitar Tricks. just started working through the fundamental course.

Im also from Germany, well actually im from England but live in Germany since 2009 near münster. Funny how the first Thread i open on the first time visiting the forum is from someone living in the same country. :)

Stay safe and have fun.

Hello Captain Crunch,

yes, with me it was in fact similar as it was for you. I played around with my guitar for years, but I haven't made any real progress. A constant improvement began since I had lessons by a guitar teacher. Here at Guitar Tricks I want to learn playing the music I like to hear. Like you I think it is right to do the course from the beginning. It is a good idea to play too easy beginner-exercises in a more complex way.

Have fun playing your guitar

Cooke86

yes, it's a nice coincidence and a sign that you're in the right place here ;-)

I think you made the right decision to start taking it seriously. My guitar teacher always said: exercise regulary and the success is guaranteed.

Stay safe too
