I dont remember having any issues with the notaton though.
I have just gone back to see where "Walk Downtown" is and see if there is any Tab notation lesson before. And you're right there doesn't seem to be as far as I can tell.
I'm assuming you're referring to the notation below?
Top line being the music written out then the TAB notation below.
I do now remember Lisa explaining this... but cant find it in the lessons oddly.
I clearly remember her explaining how it may seem odd at first because the 6 lines represent the 6 strings but some people may think them upside down. The top line being high E and the bottom low E. It did confuse me at first. The numbers are then fret numbers for your fingers. So in the first line you put your index finger on the B sting in the first fret and play the highest 3 strings (G, B, E).
Have a look back at the lessons, its definitely in there somewhere.
