Whilst you can't ignore the fundamentals, I found learning songs to be the most enjoyable and motivating way to learn. Maybe try to find a song you like in the beginnermade easy section and see if that helps drive you.

Pardon my deployment of the hackneyed cliche with the salient reminder, one never fails until one gives up trying. Or how about, whilst there's life there's hope!
I'm certainly one to invoke the repetition until rote practice mantra, but in my opinion, if not temperamentally naturally inherent, the personal quality of [u]tenacity[/u] or 'stick-to-it-iveness' is something [u]even more important[/u] many may need to work on equally if not even harder.
Armed with that awareness and sufficient will, a different approach with hard work may take you there. Unsurprisingly, same old is likely to affect,....the same result.
