*sniff sniff*
Hmmm, smells like malmsteen. :D

here's how I'd like to finger this:

3 4 3 1
4 3 1 1 2 1
4 3 1
4 3 1 1 2 1
4 3 1
4 3 1

1=index
2=middle
3=ring
4=pinky

Another guy here may like to use the index,middle & ring fingers only, but I usualy like to take advantage of all of my fingers including the pinky.

Anyway it's up to you, if you are more comfortable with the other way just replace the (ring & pinky) with (middle & ring).

3 4 3 1
4 3 1 1 2 1---> maybe 432121
4 3 1 ---> maybe 321
4 3 1 1 2 1
4 3 1
4 3 1
it's not very confortable to change on the same fret from 1 to 4 over:) but onlu for me:)

If you want my advice, try to play most of the fingering patterns you can creat for any riff (only logical ones, don't make impossible patterns) and practice them all. This will increase your finger strength significantly (I've tried this method before and I liked the results :) ) . Then you might feel comfortable and faster with one or two patterns , so you will find the best that works for you and stick with it.

And don't forget the Historic Advice :
Always begin practicing very slow & raise the tempo gradualy.

Hmmm, don't know a specific exercise for fingering . But any scale run , contoring scale , etc. can be considered as a fingering exercise.

Try searching on this site using key word 'Scale runs' , you'll find a lot of usefull examples & most of those have mp3's included.

i personally would change the run and put it on different strings.. like:

|-9-10-9----------------------------------------------|
|----------12-10-9------------------------------------|
|--------------------11-10-11-10--------------------|
|-------------------------------------12-11-9---------|
|-------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------|

|-------------------------------------------------------
|------------------------------------------------------
|----------------------------------------------------
|---------------------0--------------------------------
|-12-11-9\8-9-8------4-2-0------------------------
|---------------------------------4-2------------------
