58 years old. Love music and have wanted to play guitar since I was a boy. Once I got old enough to be able to make it happen, lifes responsibilities just got in the way and I kept putting it off. Now I find myself with an abundance of free time and I'm not putting it off anymore. Am working through Lisa's fundamentals for just a few days now and am having fun.

The toughest part so far is getting my fretting hand to cooperate but tonight I noticed my ring finger stretches a good half inch more than it did before. My hand and forearm are a bit sore but it's progress. Kind of a dumb thing to get excited about but it's a big deal to me!

Anyway I'm so happy to be here now and will keep moving forward and see how far I can go.

Hi Daniel6105. Welcome to the forums. ☺

Keep getting excited about and take pleasure in each and every one of those little steps in which you see just a hint of progress. That's how guitar is. Over time, all those little steps will stitch together in your mind and fingers to deliver a huge cat that got the cream grin of satisfaction.

Hi Daniel

There are many of us here up in age who are learning guitar. It's very important for continued interest to take every accomplishment as they come along.

Best of luck.

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

I'm taking my first stab at guitar and found youtube videos frustrating. Glad I discovered this site. I recently retired at the age of 70 and find myself with time on my hands. I intend to spend it learning guitar (I would kill to be 58 again).
