I had the same problem, we all have. Take your time and ensure that your fingers are placed correctly. The skill is the placement, not the looking away. That will come with time.

Also your soft fingers are probably spreading a bit. Again time is your friend. Your fingers will build some lovely callouses.

Dont rush the early drills they build a good foundation.
