Hi,

I was wondering if its ok for me to follow the old Guitar Essentials course, the one that was discontinued or is it better to follow the new course. I mean, why was it discontinued anyway? Aint it a good course anymore?

I also like the learning style of the guy teaching that old course better.

Yes, it's fine to use. It was discontinued because the new course was made with new & improved production standards: technology improved, the internet & web users were able to stream higher quality video. It's just part of the process of gradually improving the site, keep it up to date.

Yes, it's still a good course. :) I'm glad you like my style. Another reason GT had Lisa do the new version is that we already had my version. Lisa & I have different teaching styles. But we're teaching the same thing: beginner guitar skills!

So if you look at the outline of both courses, you will see roughly the same cirriculum. The same skills & ideas taught in roughly the same order. But our different personal approaches mean that there are more options for GT students!

But both courses are fine to use. I frequently encourage GT students to work through both! You've paid for them both. So get the most value for your rmoney. :)

The discontinued courses are here:

GF1

https://www.guitartricks.com/course.php?input=guitarfundamentals1v1(discontinued)

GF2

https://www.guitartricks.com/course.php?input=fundamentals2(discontinued)

The links to both of those are at the very bottom of the current GF home pages.

And all the tutorials are always available from my instructor page.

Hope that helps! Have fun!

Despite the 540p eye candy limitation of those courses, I prefer and relate far better to Christopher's instructional methodology & delivery style too.

I'm new around here, and I didn't even know there was a previous version.

I'll have to check it out.

Thanks!

I did both. Figured getting the same info two different ways, and a little bit of repetition can only be good. I plan to do the same with Essentials II.
