Lisa uses both acoustic & electric for variety & just to show what is possible.

Barre chords are often easier to play on an electric (typically due to lighter strings, lower action), but also completely normal & widely used on acoustic guitars as well.

After GF2 some of the style courses get into skills & techniques that are more suited to electric guitar. But even then most of them can still be applied to acoustic.
