You have to try the New Vox ValveTronix!!!!!!!!!!! Great amp! Right now i have an older Line 6 Axsys212 upgraded to AX2 specs. It's an ok Amp but it is huge and very heavy, so I went around today looking for something smaller, but still had a big sound and was as versitle as my line 6. I played the Peavey Transformer(i think it's called) which was cool, but kind weak. I also played a flextone w/ one 12" which was good, but line 6's to me seem to loose there balls when they are turned up, plus it doesn't really act like a tube amp which the digital amps are designed to do. They would make excellent recording amps. Then I played the Vox AD60VT. By far the best digital modeling amp I've ever played. The only one I havent played is the Johnson. The Valvetronix has a digital pre-amp, but the power amp section uses two 12AX7(?), preamp tubes, w/ a transformer after them that doesn't effect the sound AT ALL. This thing plays Just like a tube AMP! IT acts like one, it responds like one, it's amazing. It has that tube amp power that most solid states lack, and it will keep up with probably any 60 watt tube amp. The best part is it is lightweight, and it has the Korg ToneWorks built into it. I would put it just above that new fender cyber twin, which also sounds great, but is a pain in the ass to use. I would recommend trying that amp before you bought the marshall. The valvestates are good, don't get me wrong. It's just that the Vox can do the Valvestate plus about 16 other amps perfectly. I'm buying one. That bad part however is, these baby's are going for like $650 for the 60 watter. It's worth every penny however.
