Well, I'm not sure what the difference is really. Though the higher models of the AVT's have effects which the old Valvestate's didn't.

And yeah, that amp is one of the old models. The VS65 is pretty nice, but if you can, try checking out a VS100 at a shop. These seem to be pretty easy to find second hand.(not to mention cheap)

Btw, that's a horrible price for the VS65, I think I paid 400$ for my VS100(new) a couple of years ago. Marshall is more expensive in the U.S. though, so that might be the deal with that high price.
