New guitar player here. Just starting out after a slight pause. Here's the background. A couple of months back I decided to learn guitar playing. Then I started thinking what I always wanted to learn was the piano. So here is the pause, and I buy a Roland FP 30 and start to learn how to play. While this is going on I'm still thinking of the guitar I want to play. So after my careful research I purchased a Gretsch G2655 and signed up for GuitarTricks. [br]So now I am learning two instruments at once, and hoping that learning will be somewhat similar between the two, hoping. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. If I can pull this off, I think that's pretty good for a 60 year old with no musical background. That's all I've got. Thanks for having me.

Uncle Pete 😎

Hi Uncle Pete,

Welcome aboard. I wish you success in learning piano and guitar.

The physical differences between the two instruments, of course, are obvious but that shouldn't stop you learning both instruments at the same time.

I have not tried learning both together but I tried piano before I turned to the guitar. However I found it quite difficult. The main reason being getting both hands to do different things, ha,ha.

I find it much easier on the guitar.

I do have a console style electric organ which I play about with now and again but I'm making much better progress with the guitar. Mainly due to Guitar Tricks.

I wish you a very satisfying learning curve and much success.

Kind regards

Joe.
