It depends on what you mean by different! What did you have mind? :)[br][br]In general you need to hold it between your thumb and fingers. Usually you have the most control & leverage combining your thumb with your index and/or middle fingers.

There is some wiggle room here for the microplacement of how you grip it with those fingers. You have to figure out what works for you to some degree. But ultimately you are after technique that helps & does not hinder your motion in order to efficiently pick or strum the strings.

Just as important is to keep your grip just firm enough to grip the pick without too much squeezing. Too much pressure leads to you hand being too tense & rigid, making smooth technique hard to accomplish. Relax!

Another important aspect is to angle the pick so it glides over the strings instead of digging in & getting caught.
