I am just wondering what kinda settings you have for certain styles?

such styles as:

rock
alternative
country
heavy metal
classic rock
blues

etc.

be specific as well, but dont count all the little setting that most amps dont have..just stick to the basics drive, gain, treb, mid, base, vol, different channels etc, plz.
thanks

The mid controle is one of the most effective controles that determines your tone.

anyway, here is the general settings I'd try with any pedal/amp before I do the fine tweaking.

Heavy Metal (Pantera) : crank the bass up , mid controle set to 0 or 1 , the highs are about 4 or 5.

Heavy Metal (Metallica/Megadeth) : same as above with little more mids.

For a Rock sound I'd move down the bass little, crank the mids a little , keep the highs at half.

Is there a site that tells me what all controls do and how to get different sounds from your amp?

Different makes of amp sound different hence the lack of generalization. Because of this the POD and other amp modelers have been developed.
You might try checking out Line6.com, they have something called a “tone locker” which tells you who used what amp and what there settings were for many different artists playing many different songs.

My instructors page and www.studiotrax.net for all things recording.
