When I play the tapping pattern from Surfing With Alien, I use pick and tap on as fast as I can. Remeber that changes are important here, nowone can hear if you tap the note 2-3 times less our more, just make sure to make those changes corect and smooth. I find it pretty simple nowdays but I had some trouble to gain the speed before.
