I finally got a wild hair and decided it was time. I went down to guitar center, got a nice beginner kit (Squire Strat Affinity with goodies). The kit came with 3 months of free lessons through Fender Play. After about two days on Fender Play I decided to look up some reviews on various online resources. Guitar Tricks constantly came up #1 on paid services.

I have got to say, GT is SO much better than Fender Play. Lisa has been an excellent teacher so far. I just got to the part where we add the "G" string into our melodies. Practice has never been more enjoyable!

My name is Aaron, my background in music is four years of high school band playing the clarinet, then 6 years of nothing, followed by one incomplete attempt at learning guitar. This time, I keep these calluses!

Edit:

LOL @ my join date, I suppose that was my previous time trying to learn guitar.

Good luck Aaron, somewhat of a beginner myself.

This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!
