Is it just that I'm a beginner but I can't follow along with the teacher on songs like roll like water because she seems to be playing a chord longer then are on the sheet and goes longer then the sheet does, does anybody have this issue . Thanks dave
Following teacher on sheet music
I’m happy to look into it - could you tell me at what point (time stamp) in the video you feel it doesn’t match the sheet music? Thank you!

I'm sorry what i really meant was the sheets don't reflect your count am I to double every section it's not written that way in other words c for 12 written is really 24 strips etc on all sections 4 is 8 and so on ? Confusing. Thank you
Formal Sheet music can be very confusing, as it uses certain symbols and indications that are meant to give you info about how to proceed through the song - and yet, we are often not fully taught how to interpret these symbols. The song moves along quickly, while we are still trying to figure out how to follow the music.
my best advice would be to print the LYRIC sheet with the chords, and make a note to yourself as you compare it to the video - noting any spots that require a litttle special attention from you. The lyric sheet with chords offers you the basic information you need to get through the song, without a lot of extra markings to interpret and follow.
i hope this helps.
